CULTURA | UM LEGADO QUE NOS UNE
Depois de refletirmos sobre temas que fazem parte dos grandes desafios da humanidade, o International School Cartoon Festival propõe, em 2027, um novo olhar sobre aquilo que nos identifica, nos aproxima e nos permite compreender quem somos: a Cultura. A cultura está presente em tudo aquilo que recebemos das gerações que nos antecederam e que, de alguma forma, decidimos preservar, transformar e transmitir às gerações futuras. Está na língua que falamos, nas histórias que contamos, na música que ouvimos, nas tradições que celebramos, nos monumentos que preservamos, na gastronomia, no artesanato, na literatura, nas artes e nas formas como cada comunidade interpreta o mundo. É através da cultura que conhecemos o outro. Quando descobrimos os costumes, as tradições e as expressões artísticas de outros povos, percebemos que, apesar das diferenças, existem sentimentos, preocupações e sonhos que nos aproximam. A cultura pode, por isso, ser uma ponte entre pessoas, comunidades e países. Num mundo onde tantas vezes se erguem fronteiras, a cultura tem a capacidade de as atravessar.
Em 2027, queremos convidar crianças, jovens, escolas e artistas de todo o mundo a olhar para a cultura não apenas como aquilo que herdámos, mas como aquilo que construímos todos os dias. Porque cada geração recebe um legado, mas também tem a responsabilidade de o preservar, reinventar e transmitir.
O International School Cartoon Festival 2027 pretende, através do desenho e do humor, celebrar essa diversidade cultural e criar um espaço onde diferentes olhares possam encontrar-se. Porque quando partilhamos a nossa cultura, não perdemos aquilo que somos. Porque a cultura pertence a todos. E aquilo que partilhamos pode tornar o mundo um pouco mais próximo.

CULTURE | A LEGACY THAT UNITES US
Having reflected on issues that form part of humanity’s greatest challenges, the International School Cartoon Festival proposes, in 2027, a fresh perspective on what defines us, brings us together and enables us to understand who we are: Culture. Culture is present in everything we have inherited from previous generations and which, in some way, we have chosen to preserve, transform and pass on to future generations. It is found in the language we speak, the stories we tell, the music we listen to, the traditions we celebrate, the monuments we preserve, our cuisine, our crafts, our literature, the arts and the ways in which each community interprets the world. It is through culture that we get to know one another. When we discover the customs, traditions and artistic expressions of other peoples, we realise that, despite our differences, there are feelings, concerns and dreams that bring us closer together. Culture can, therefore, act as a bridge between people, communities and countries. In a world where borders are so often erected, culture has the power to cross them.
In 2027, we want to invite children, young people, schools and artists from all over the world to view culture not just as something we have inherited, but as something we build every day. Because every generation receives a legacy, but also has a responsibility to preserve, reinvent and pass it on.
The International School Cartoon Festival 2027 aims, through drawing and humour, to celebrate this cultural diversity and create a space where different perspectives can come together. Because when we share our culture, we do not lose who we are. Because culture belongs to everyone. And what we share can bring the world a little closer together.
