Should everyone take the SAT or ACT?

Test optional means that a student can choose whether or not to send test scores.
Should a student send test scores if the university is test optional?
Yes, if the scores are high.
No, if the scores are not.
Should a student take the SAT or the ACT?
Both are accepted.
More students take the SAT.
"Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT or ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test over the other" (Princeton Review).
Overall, the higher you score on the ACT and/or SAT, the more options for attending and paying for college will be available to you.
What is the SAT / ACT?
They are entrance exams used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.
They are multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper tests created and administered by the College Board.
The purpose of the exams is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants" (Princeton Review).
How can a student prepare for the SAT?
Based on PSAT results, a student can prepare for the SAT through Khan Academy. It's a free service and extremely good.
How can a student prepare for the ACT?
When should I take the SAT / ACT?
Most high school students take the SAT, the ACT, or both during the spring of their junior year or fall of their senior year. It's important to leave time to retake the test if students need to raise their scores before applying to college.
