Hi! My name is Isabella Ng. I am a high school senior at Staten Island Tech and a student in Ms. Fusaro's Modern Mythology course called "Gods, Monsters, and the Apocalypse." In this course, my classmates and I analyze texts like Edith Hamilton's Mythology and Sophocles's Oedipus the King by exploring essential questions that prompt us to apply critical theories, make real-life connections, and ask questions about the nature of life, power, and humanity.
This page is a home for the reflections, blog posts, writing pieces, and projects that I intend to accumulate during this course. I hope to use this page to track my learning progress as I reflect on my work.
I am a high school senior at Staten Island Tech, where I'm devoted to Tech’s CAD community as well as Tech's My Sister's Keeper chapter. As a co-captain of the virtual reality team, I design and manage a true-to-life, 3D model of our school using Autodesk Revit software. And every Monday, I work with my MSK girls to build a supportive community for young women at Tech by discussing and addressing social issues. I feel really grateful to be connected to these communities at Tech.
When I'm not at school, I love mountain-biking, cycling, and running. (The best part about living near the beach is that I get to do these things all the time.) And I love to write.
But more than anything, I am my mother's daughter. In my home, family means everything.
Like this portfolio page, my CAD portfolio is a home for all of my projects and learning experiences as I endeavor to enter the civil engineering/ construction management industry. I feel incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to explore my interests. In my free time and as a part of my Advanced CAD class, I use programs such as Revit and Enscape to work on portfolio projects that implement construction principles and sustainable design. Additionally, I'm an intern for the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), where I work with a team of students on design challenges, as well as an intern at Designer's Edge, where I draft ADA compliant graphics using AutoCAD. And I am always thinking about buildings. I find our world very compelling, and I believe that civil engineering combines my appetite for knowledge, my love for physics, and my passion for civic engagement into one field.
