Investigations & Consumer Reporting
NBC Chicago/DePaul Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
I pitched and produced this story, which investigated the fatal consequences of Lime, a rental e-scooter company, failing to identify underage riders. I led a group of 10 students in the process of shooting footage, interviewing a variety of sources, including government officials and grieving family members, and writing the VO script and web copy.
I helped produce this investigative piece on a data center coming to Chicago's South Loop. I was in charge of filing FOIA requests with the city, which revealed that a "minor change" request to the city allowed what was supposed to be an e-sports arena to become an AI data center without public input. I dug into Chicago's zoning laws and did in-depth research into the environmental effects of data centers — an issue on the minds of many Midwesterners and Americans across the nation. Read the digital story here.
For this story, I worked with two other reporters to systematically verify and analyze use-of-force tactics seen in social media videos of ICE arrests.
