Event: Inclusion UTSAV South Asian Family Conference - a conference to offer information, training, and activities with a cultural lens to South Asian families of students with disabilities, special healthcare needs, or developmental delays in the Bay area. The conference will provide resources, increase knowledge of systems, and build connections within the community
About FRN: Family Resource Navigators (FRN) is a family-to-family agency dedicated to serving families of children and individuals with disabilities, developmental concerns, or special healthcare needs in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
Volunteering Details:
Time: Multiple shifts (sign up for one shift)
Shift 1: Full day 8 am - 4:30 pm (Please arrive 15 minutes early - hour tracking starts when you arrive) - will have a staggered break time of 30 min.
OR
Shift 2: AM shift 8 am - 12:30 pm
OR
Shift 3: 12 pm - 4:30 pm
Tasks: Helping with setting up/cleaning up
Helping with getting conference attendees registered and getting needed forms completed,
Helping with break-out sessions - hall and time monitoring, getting evaluation forms sent,
Helping guests get to their rights sessions, helping with food station - boxed lunches, water, etc;, setting up and cleaning up
Other Information: Volunteers will receive a Volunteer T-shirt to be worn on the day of; give your size at sign-up. Breakfast and lunch will be available for students; collect a ticket at signing in.
All volunteers must attend a Zoom orientation call the week of the event, which will be in the evening after school hours.
