Project Groups
Who are we looking for?
Youth who are passionate about migrant worker causes in Singapore and are interested to design and run a project in one of the following areas:
Volunteering at our free-store inspIRRe
Take on a regular shift to support our daily operations at inspIRRe. Only applicable to those aged 16 years old and above. If interested, please contact nextgen@itsrainingraincoats.com.
Volunteering at Current IRR Initiatives
Any of the active IRR volunteering campaigns / events (eg. Gardens by the Bay, Christmas Drive, Deepavali Drive etc.). You can find active campaigns on our social media pages or contact nextgen@itsrainingraincoats.com.
MADWish (long term commitment for students to conduct English classes, or project based support to create teaching materials for MADWish teachers)
Starbucks Initiative (signups based on IRR's schedule)
Carepack/ Food Distribution
Carepack and food distribution to migrant workers at dormitories and worksites
Note: Transport/ delivery is to be arranged by the project group. IRR will assist to match you with a dormitory or worksite.
Engagement and Outreach
Outings with migrant workers (subject to prevailing SMM and IRR's guidelines)
In-person activities at Recreational Centres (subject to prevailing SMM and IRR's guidelines)
Virtual befriending and language exchange

Research Papers & Projects
Groups are to identify topics of interest or subject based on topical welfare issues pertaining to migrant workers.
IRR’s scope for research projects is limited solely to coaching, mentoring and facilitating link ups to migrant worker beneficiaries. All due diligence and research content will be carried out by the project teams. IRR is not responsible for the eventual contents of the research.

What is required of all project groups?
You will need to form your own groups of 3-5, and nominate a project lead.
You should already have a project idea in mind (based on the list above). You will be required to submit a description of your project idea in the sign-up form.
Once onboarded, groups will be required to submit a detailed project proposal, to be reviewed by your assigned mentor and IRR within six weeks. Only project propoals that have been approved can be executed.
Teams will need to be proactive, enthusiastic, independent yet good team players who are able to commit to see through an entire project (based on the requirements of your own initiative).
Suitable for Secondary/ Tertiary students (including Post-Secondary e.g. JC, Poly, MI, ITE, IB and University).

You will be assigned experienced mentors to guide you on your project
Be invited to IRR Next Gen webinars that will deep dive into migrant worker related issues and equip you with basic project management skills
Please note that all project proposals are subject to approval by IRR.
School-Wide or Teacher-Led Initiatives

School-level collaboration or teachers interested in leading their students to volunteer in any one of these themes:

Research on migrant worker related issues
