Makan with Migrant Workers

How to Participate:

Corporate volunteers may sponsor lunch meals such as bento boxes, burgers, or pizzas for migrant workers. IRR can coordinate with site supervisors to organise a short 30–45 minute distribution session, where volunteers can personally hand out the items. A minimum of one month’s notice is required for planning with the worksite, and we are unfortunately unable to accommodate last-minute requests.

Alternatively, volunteers may opt for a drive-by distribution to road workers in nearby areas.

Please note that IRR is unable to allocate worksites based on location preference, and all dates and times are subject to the availability of the respective worksites.

Kindly note that sit-down meal sessions are not available on weekdays. If you prefer a sit-down meal experience, please refer to our Makan with Migrant Workers initiative in the Weekend Options section of this brochure.

This is a half-day, self-run activity. All costs are to be covered by the corporate, and IRR staff or volunteers will not be present on-site. However, remote guidance can be provided if needed.

How to Participate:

1. Meal at a Dormitory (subject to approval), Restaurant, or Corporate Space

   • We recommend a 1 volunteer to 5 workers ratio.

   • Group size should be adjusted based on venue capacity.

   • Please provide Halal and vegetarian options to accommodate dietary needs.

   • IRR will broadcast the opportunity and secure worker sign-ups.

   • All event planning, coordination, and costs (e.g., catering, logistics) are managed and covered by the corporate host.

2. Fun Outing with a Meal

   • Treat our migrant brothers to a fun-filled outing such as Sentosa, Universal Studios, or other attractions, including a lunch session.

   • The corporate host is responsible for arranging transportation, securing tickets, and providing meals.

   • Once these details are in place, IRR will handle coordination to ensure workers can sign up easily.
