I am Associate Professor and MacGillavry Fellow at the Video & Image Sense Lab at the Informatics Institute at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). I am also affiliated with the Department of Brain and Cognition at the Psychology Research Institute at the UvA. See here for my full bio and CV.
I lead a Team that studies human vision using brain measurement techniques such as EEG, fMRI and ECoG, in combination with computational models, including deep neural networks. The goal of our research is to find out how the human brain perceives and understands real-world images and videos. We also explore how we can use bio-inspired computations to improve AI-based models of perception.
To learn more about our past and ongoing research, please browse our lab's Publications, which includes peer-reviewed articles as well as preprints that are currently under review.
You can also check News and Media & Outreach for recent developments in the lab. Thanks for your interest!
