Art

(Added January 15, 2024) My PERSONAL CREATED ART FOLDER can be accessed here. The abstract art in this folder was featured in my talk at the Special Session in Mathematics and the Arts at AMS' Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Francisco, CA on January 6, 2024; and is also cited in my ongoing applications to Philosophy PhD programs. I will write more details about this on some later date when I get the chance.

This page is still under construction.

I had been deeply influenced by music for a big part of my life, but I only recognized my own musical and songwriting abilities sometime last year (2022). Since then, I have been trying to self-teach piano and vocals, with a long-term goal to publish a concept album at some point in my life (for which I have written about 4-5 songs so far).

I have posted here some videos of when I initially discovered I can create tunes by just following mathematical patterns in pressing the keys. I called the first tune I created in this manner "The Autism Tune".

I am still not good enough to actually play premeditated songs---whatever tune I create is usually created in the moment, by pressing keys mathematically (for lack of a better term; perhaps "intuitively" is the more common term attributed to this style of creating music) without me knowing how it would go until I finish it.

(Comment added January 20, 2024) This is similar to how I now make abstract art (see folder linked on the top of this page for a sample of my abstract art). I am in the process of writing a philosophical paper about mathematics and aesthetics that is inspired by ethical questions about education in contemporary society that I was led to when reflecting on my own creative process.

Because of my interest in creating music, I have also gotten into the software aspects of music production. click on the image below to check out an occasionally updated playlist containing the instrumental tracks I have produced, mostly out of my piano practices:

Before COVID happened, I used to be an avid concert goer. Here is a list of some of the shows I attended during the time I was a PhD student (my own attempts at music now are influenced by a lot of these artists):

You may find some concert videos (among certain other videos) on my sporadically updated YouTube channel.
