Read as much as you can to your child every day. Depending on your child's reading level, let them pretend to read or describe the pages in a book. If the child knows some letters, ask the child to read one word or a sentence or read the book to you.

The skill of cutting with scissors is only mastered when the child has enough exposure to it. The best thing is to provide a child with lots of opportunities to use scissors like cutting a recycle paper with child friendly scissors. The child will need to be supervised while making creations of his/her choice. Another activity is to make or buy play dough and the child can work the dough and cut it with a plastic scissors. By working the dough, your child straightening his/her fingers muscles which is very important for writing and proper pencil holding.
