These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of PDF Scanner (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using PDF Scanner, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the App.
PDF Scanner is a document scanning and PDF utility application.
Depending on the version of the App and your device capabilities, the App may allow you to:
Scan documents using your device camera
Import images and PDF files
Detect document boundaries
Crop and correct document perspective
Apply document filters and enhancements
Create multi-page documents
Create PDF files
Extract text using optical character recognition (OCR)
Search locally stored document information and recognized text
Add signatures
Add pen annotations and highlights
Add typed text annotations
Organize locally managed documents
Save, export, open, and share supported files
Configure App preferences
Features may be changed, improved, removed, or added in future versions.
You may use PDF Scanner only in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right or appropriate authorization to scan, import, copy, modify, sign, annotate, store, export, or share any document or content you use with the App.
You must not use the App to violate the rights of another person or organization.
You retain responsibility for documents and other content that you scan, import, create, edit, sign, annotate, export, or share using PDF Scanner.
Your content may include:
Scanned documents
Images
Imported PDFs
Generated PDFs
OCR-recognized text
Signatures
Handwritten annotations
Highlights
Typed text annotations
Document names and related local information
PDF Scanner does not claim ownership of your documents merely because you process them using the App.
You are responsible for the legality, accuracy, ownership, permissions, and appropriate use of your content.
Core document features are designed to process document content locally on your device.
PDF Scanner does not operate an application cloud service for uploading and storing your documents.
However, the App uses third-party services such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics that may communicate over the internet and process technical, usage, crash, and diagnostic information.

PDF Scanner may provide OCR functionality using on-device text-recognition technology.
OCR is an automated process and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, incorrectly formatted, or misrecognized text.
You should review OCR results before relying on, copying, searching, exporting, or sharing recognized text.
We do not guarantee that OCR results will perfectly reproduce the text contained in an original document.
Features such as:
Automatic edge detection
Automatic cropping
Perspective correction
Image enhancement
Filters
Rotation
are provided to assist with document processing.
Results may vary depending on lighting, camera quality, document boundaries, background, shadows, image quality, perspective, device capabilities, and other conditions.
You are responsible for reviewing the resulting document before saving, exporting, signing, or sharing it.
PDF Scanner may create new PDF files from scanned pages, imported images, imported PDF pages, or edited document workspaces.
Processing or recreating an imported PDF may alter characteristics of the original file, including image quality, page rendering, compression, metadata, or editable properties.
The App is not represented as a full PDF layout, font, or embedded-text editor.
You should retain important original files separately when necessary.
PDF Scanner may allow you to create, save, reuse, place, resize, move, rotate, or remove signature annotations.
A signature created or placed using PDF Scanner is a document annotation tool.
The App does not independently verify:
Your identity
Another person's identity
Authority to sign
Consent of other parties
Authenticity of a signature
Legal enforceability of a signature
Compliance with a particular electronic-signature law or contractual requirement
Whether a signature is legally valid or sufficient depends on the applicable law, jurisdiction, agreement, document, and circumstances.
You are responsible for determining whether use of a signature created or placed through the App is appropriate for your purpose.
PDF Scanner may allow you to add pen strokes, highlights, and typed text to documents.
You are responsible for reviewing annotations before generating, saving, exporting, or sharing a document.
PDF Scanner does not guarantee that annotations will constitute legally recognized amendments, approvals, certifications, or signatures.
PDF Scanner may allow you to save generated files to device-accessible storage.
You are responsible for:
Selecting the appropriate destination
Confirming that a file was saved successfully
Maintaining backups of important documents
Managing exported files
Protecting confidential files stored on your device
Files saved outside the App's private storage may remain on your device even if the App is later uninstalled.
PDF Scanner may use Android sharing mechanisms to allow you to send supported content to another application.
You decide whether to initiate sharing and which available application or service receives the content.
Once content is transferred to another application or service, its handling is subject to that third party's terms, privacy practices, security, and functionality.
We are not responsible for how a third-party application handles content that you voluntarily share with it.
You may choose to process documents containing confidential or sensitive information.
You are responsible for determining whether your device, environment, storage method, sharing destination, and use of the App are appropriate for such information.
You should take reasonable precautions when working with documents containing financial, medical, legal, identification, employment, business, personal, or other confidential information.
PDF Scanner is a general-purpose document utility and is not a substitute for specialized regulated document-management systems where such systems are legally required.
PDF Scanner uses Google Firebase technologies, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
These services may process technical, usage, crash, diagnostic, device, application, installation, session, and related information.
PDF Scanner does not intentionally use Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics to upload your scanned document contents, PDF contents, OCR-recognized document text, signatures, annotations, or document file paths for document processing.

PDF Scanner may rely on third-party technologies, libraries, Android platform components, or services, including technologies provided by Google.
Third-party components may be governed by their own licenses, terms, policies, and technical requirements.
Availability or behavior of some functionality may depend on:
Android
Google Play services
Device manufacturer behavior
Third-party components
Device capabilities
Operating system version
External applications installed on your device
We do not control third-party services or platforms.
The App may provide links or actions that open third-party destinations, including:
Google Play
Email applications
Web browsers
Privacy Policy pages
Terms & Conditions pages
We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or terms of third-party websites or applications.
PDF Scanner may provide an option to open an email application so that you can voluntarily send feedback.
You are responsible for the information you choose to include in your message.
Submitting feedback does not create a confidential, employment, partnership, or professional relationship.
We may update, modify, improve, replace, suspend, or discontinue features of PDF Scanner where appropriate.
We do not guarantee that:
Every feature will be available on every device
Every imported file will be supported
Every PDF will render identically to its source
OCR will always be accurate
Automatic document detection will always identify the correct boundaries
The App will operate without interruption or errors
Device hardware, Android versions, system restrictions, available storage, memory, third-party components, and other factors may affect functionality.
PDF Scanner is a general-purpose document utility.
The App does not provide legal, financial, medical, tax, accounting, or other professional advice.
Scanning, signing, annotating, converting, or storing a document through the App does not constitute professional review or verification of that document.
You should seek qualified professional advice where appropriate.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate copies and backups of important documents.
Before modifying, replacing, deleting, exporting, or sharing an important document, you should verify that you have retained any original or backup that you require.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for loss resulting solely from your deletion of content, failure to maintain backups, device failure, storage failure, third-party application behavior, or actions you take outside the App.
You must not use PDF Scanner to:
Violate applicable laws or regulations
Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other legal rights
Forge, falsify, or unlawfully alter documents
Impersonate another person without authorization
Create or use signatures without appropriate authorization
Distribute unlawful content
Attempt to interfere with, damage, reverse engineer where prohibited by law, or misuse the App or its supporting services
Use the App in a way that intentionally harms another person or organization
PDF Scanner, including its original application code, branding, visual design, icons, interface elements, and other App materials owned by us, is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms give you permission to use the App for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of the App or its intellectual property to you.
Third-party software and technologies remain subject to their respective licenses and ownership rights.
Your own documents and content remain subject to your applicable rights and responsibilities.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PDF Scanner is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not make guarantees that the App will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or document, or suitable for every specific purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
This may include losses related to:
Loss or corruption of documents
Failure to maintain backups
OCR inaccuracies
Incorrect automatic cropping or document detection
User-selected sharing destinations
Third-party applications or services
Device or storage failures
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Your use of PDF Scanner is also subject to the App's Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how document content, local data, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, permissions, and related information are handled.
If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy, you should discontinue use of the App.
You may stop using PDF Scanner at any time and uninstall it from your device.
We may restrict or discontinue the App or particular functionality where reasonably necessary, including for legal, security, technical, or platform-related reasons.
Uninstalling the App may remove App-private data, while files that you previously exported to shared or user-accessible storage may remain on your device.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in:
App functionality
Third-party services
Legal requirements
Security or technical requirements
Business or operational practices
When these Terms are updated, the revised version will be published with an updated effective date.
Continued use of the App after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
