PDF Scanner: Document Scanner
Effective Date: October 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Scanner: Document Scanner (“PDF Scanner,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App.
The App provides document scanning, PDF creation, document management, optical character recognition (OCR), and related tools. Core document processing is performed on your device. The App also uses third-party advertising, analytics, consent management, and crash reporting services that may collect and process certain technical information.
Please read this Privacy Policy to understand these practices.
PDF Scanner is a document scanning and PDF utility application that allows users to scan documents, import images and PDF files, create PDFs, extract text using optical character recognition (OCR), organize documents, add signatures and annotations, and save or share generated files.
Core document processing is performed on the user's device. The App does not require an account and does not operate a cloud service for storing or processing users' documents.
The App uses the following third-party services:
Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) for displaying advertisements.
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for managing applicable advertising consent and privacy choices.
Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics) for app usage analytics.
Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and diagnostics.
Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition.
These services may process technical, advertising, usage, diagnostic, and device-related information as described below.
PDF Scanner may process files and content that you explicitly capture, select, import, create, edit, or save using the App, including:
Scanned document images
Images selected by you
Imported PDF files
Generated PDF files
OCR-recognized text
Document names and local document information
Signatures
Handwritten annotations
Highlights
Typed text annotations
This content is used to provide the document features requested by you.
PDF Scanner processes this document content locally and does not intentionally upload your documents, document images, imported PDFs, OCR-recognized text, signatures, annotations, or document file names and paths to Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, or Firebase Crashlytics.
The App does not provide an application-operated cloud document storage service.
Third-party SDKs may separately transmit the technical information described in this Privacy Policy.
PDF Scanner may request access to your device's Camera.
Camera access is used to capture and scan documents.
The camera is accessed only when required for scanning functionality and after the appropriate Android permission has been granted.
The App does not use the Camera permission for advertising or unrelated background collection.
PDF Scanner allows you to select supported images, PDFs, and other documents through Android-supported file and media selection mechanisms.
The App processes files that you choose for features such as:
Document scanning
Image import
PDF import
Cropping and perspective correction
Image enhancement and filters
OCR
PDF creation
Signatures and annotations
Export and sharing
The App is designed to avoid unnecessary broad storage access for normal file selection.
PDF Scanner provides optical character recognition to extract text from scanned documents and images.
OCR recognition is performed using Google ML Kit text recognition technology with an on-device recognition model.
Recognized text may be stored locally as part of your document data to support features such as viewing extracted text and searching your documents within the App.
PDF Scanner does not intentionally upload your document images or OCR-recognized document text to an application-operated server for OCR processing.
Google ML Kit and supporting Google software components may include technical service components subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.
PDF Scanner may create a local search index using information such as:
Document names
OCR-recognized text
This information is stored locally as part of the App's document-management functionality and is used to help you find documents within the App.
Text manually added as a document annotation is not used as OCR search content unless the App explicitly provides such functionality.
PDF Scanner allows you to create and save signatures and add annotations to documents, including:
Pen annotations
Highlights
Typed text
Signature annotations
Saved signatures and annotations are stored locally as necessary to provide these features.
PDF Scanner does not intentionally send the contents of your signatures, handwritten annotations, highlights, or typed document annotations to AdMob, Firebase Analytics, or Firebase Crashlytics.
PDF Scanner uses Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics) to help understand general App usage and improve the App.
Depending on the device, operating system, settings, and Firebase SDK configuration, Firebase Analytics may automatically collect and transmit information such as:
App instance or installation identifiers
Device and operating system information
App version information
General App interaction and engagement information
Automatically collected events, such as first open, session start, and engagement events
Technical information used for application analytics and measurement
This information may be transmitted to Google/Firebase servers.
PDF Scanner has configured Firebase Analytics Advertising ID collection to be disabled. However, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may separately access and process advertising-related identifiers for advertising purposes, subject to device settings, applicable consent, and SDK behavior.
PDF Scanner does not intentionally add scanned documents, PDF contents, OCR text, signatures, annotations, document file names, or file paths as custom Firebase Analytics event parameters.
The App uses Firebase Analytics for general application analytics and does not intentionally use document content for custom analytics events.
PDF Scanner uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify crashes, application-not-responding events, and technical problems so that App stability can be improved.
Crashlytics may automatically collect and transmit diagnostic information such as:
Crash and error information
Stack traces
Application-not-responding (ANR) diagnostic information
Device model and device-related technical information
Operating system information
App version and build information
Firebase installation or session identifiers
Technical process and application state related to crashes
Diagnostic information necessary to identify and group crashes
This diagnostic information may be transmitted to Google/Firebase servers.
PDF Scanner does not intentionally attach document contents, OCR-recognized text, signatures, annotations, document file names, file paths, or user-entered document content to Crashlytics custom keys, logs, or user identifiers.
PDF Scanner displays advertisements provided through Google AdMob using the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Advertisements may include:
Banner advertisements
Native advertisements
Interstitial advertisements
App Open advertisements
These advertisements help support the development, maintenance, and availability of the App.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect, process, and share certain information with Google and its advertising services, including:
IP address, which may be used to estimate a device's approximate geographic location
Device and operating system information
App information and technical configuration
Advertising-related identifiers, including Android Advertising ID where available and permitted
Other device or app identifiers used by the advertising SDK
Ad requests, impressions, clicks, and interactions
App interaction information relevant to advertising
Diagnostic information, performance information, and technical error data
Google may use this information for purposes such as:
Delivering advertisements
Advertising measurement and reporting
Advertising personalization where permitted and applicable
Fraud prevention and invalid traffic detection
Security
SDK performance, diagnostics, and service improvement
The availability of advertising identifiers and personalized advertising may depend on device configuration, applicable law, the user's consent choices, and Google's advertising policies.
The App may use the Android Advertising ID through the Google Mobile Ads SDK for advertising-related purposes.
Users can reset or delete their Advertising ID through supported Android privacy settings.
If the Advertising ID is unavailable, limited, or restricted, Google Mobile Ads may use other permitted technical information as described in Google's applicable privacy practices.
Disabling Advertising ID collection for Firebase Analytics does not necessarily disable Advertising ID access by Google Mobile Ads.
PDF Scanner does not intentionally send scanned documents, imported PDFs, OCR-recognized text, document images, signatures, annotations, document file names, or document file paths to AdMob for advertising targeting.
Advertising is separate from the App's local document-processing functionality.
