6th International Workshop on Induced Polarization

The 6th IP Workshop took place in June 27-30, 2022 !!

The 6th international meeting on Induced Polarization (IP) has been organized in Annecy (Haute-Savoie) in France on June 27-30, 2022. It took place at the Imperial Palace on the banks of Lake of Annecy. The charming city of Annecy is located 30 minutes away from the international airport of Geneva in Switzerland (https://www.gva.ch/en/).

The meeting has been organized in honor of Conrad Schlumberger, celebrating the 100th anniversary (+2) of his seminal book on electrical methods published in 1920 in French (Etude sur la Prospection électrique du Sous-sol) and translated in English (Study regarding electrical prospection of the underground). This book contains the first quantitative description of induced polarization.

Conrad Schlumberger (2 October 1878 in Alsace, German Empire – 9 May 1936 in Stockholm, Sweden) and Emile Henry Marcel Schlumberger (21 June 1884 in Guebwiller – 9 May 1953 in Val-Richer, France) were two brothers who developed methods in the area of geophysics that impacted the entire well logging industry.
