The Baha'i Perspective on the Divine and Reality:
⚫ The Search for Truth: Central to the faith is the independent investigation of truth, allowing individuals to explore concepts like God as the "soul of the universe" while acknowledging Divine transcendence.
⚫ God in the World: Rather than a distant deity, God is perceived through "signs" in nature and the human self. As Bahá'u'lláh stated, nature serves as the direct expression of God’s Will within the physical world.
⚫ The Mirror Analogy: The faith harmonizes two major mystical concepts:
Wahdat al-Wujud (Unity of Existence): Affirming that all life is sustained by one single Divine Source.
Wahdat al-Shuhud (Unity of Witness): Maintaining that while God’s attributes are visible everywhere, His true essence remains separate and transcendent.
⚫ Historical Identity: While the Baha'i Faith shares "spiritual DNA" and deep roots with Sufi mysticism and Shia Islam, it has evolved into a distinct, independent world religion—much like a unique species of tree growing from specific soil.
The number 19 serves as a cornerstone of the Bahá'í Faith, symbolizing unity, order, and spiritual completion. This principle structures the unique calendar of 19 months consisting of 19 days each, establishing a distinct rhythm for regular community worship, consultation, and fellowship.
Important Observation: The Baháʼí Faith writings teach adherents to treat everyone with respect and dignity, and to eschew an attitude of discrimination and social intolerance toward lesbian, gay, and bisexual people (LGBT).
