Speed dates are short, three minute conversations about one topic or one or two specific questions.
Speed dating can be used to get to know each other, share experiences, share successes in your institution or to share ideas on a specific topic.
Prepare a topic or questions in advance, i.e. favorite ed app, best classroom experience with ed tech or some questions to get to know each other. In choosing your topic or questions keep in mind that participants have only three minutes to talk to each other, the more specific your questions are the more likely it is that the conversations will indeed be about your topic.
If your participants do not have each others contact information, creating contact cards might be a good idea to facilitate continuing conversations when the speed date is over. You could even let participants create a digital business card to instantly flick contact information to a speed date partner, using a platform like Zap (http://zappp.co/)
