FAQ

IPCO offers peer-counselling services free of charge to all students with an active student status at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary.
You are offered 6 sessions of peer-counselling every academic semester. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
No, peer-counselling is not therapy. The services provided by IPCO are by no means a substitute for professional mental health or medical health services under Hungarian law.
At IPCO, a peer-counsellor is a psychology student specialising in Clinical or Counselling Psychology who has been carefully selected by
the organisation.

A peer-counsellor undergoes continuous supervision and has received professional training by licensed
clinical psychologists.
Common issues for students can be anxiety and stress related to studies and work, challenges related to self-esteem, or problems with friends, family or romantic relationships.

International students may also experience challenges with adapting to their life abroad, which is something that a peer-counsellor can help you cope with.

By discussing together with your peer counsellor, you can learn new ways of dealing with various challenges, gain insight and learn more about yourself and your life.

Through mutual cooperation, your peer-counsellor will aim to help you manage the situation in a way that makes sense for you.
