I like to use the Trimaginator app to produce images that look like strings over empty space, to defined a seemingly hollow figure or face wrapped in string. Here I warped such a Trimaginator image in iColorama and hinted at her features, particularly her eyes. Herre I show you how I made 3 versions.
I reused this image that I created previously. You can see how I created it here.
Using the above image, I used the Trimaginator app to produce this. I used the Scaffolder rendering style with white lines (these are choices in Trimaginator's lower left corner).
I used Adjust/Tonelab preset 1 at low opacity to lighten the image, and Adjust/Tonelab preset 3 at low opacity for added color.
I used Effect/Blur preset 4 for an interesting blur, which adds a touch of mystery to her, as well as increasing the 3D effect. I adjusted the x and y sliders to center the effect over her left eye.
I used Effect/Raise preset 1 to emphasize the lines.
Now I want to blend the above image with a blurred version of itself. First I used Effect/Blur.
Now I used Effect/Blend to blend the previous two images in Darken blend mode.
To bring back more of a sense of the girl's features, I used Effect/Blend to blend the above image with the starting image. Then I used Form/Crop to crop.
To darken the background, I used Adjust/Exposure and darkened the image, and I used a brush mask so that her face would not be darkened.
I used Tone/Enhance preset 2 at low opacity to remove the yellow cast. Desaturated the shadows using Tone/B&W with a brush mask to her face is not desaturated.
I applied Tone/B&W preset 6 at low opacity to somewhat desaturate the entire image. This is Version 1.
Now I will make another version. Continuing with Version 1, I applied Tone/B&W preset 6 again, this time with full opacity.
I used Brush/Paint, with a hard triangular brush and black paint, to paint away a distracting section on the right hand side of the canvas. Now her head is isolated and surrounded by shadow.
I used Tone/Tint in Multiply mode at low opacity to give a hint of color to her. This is Version 2.
Now I want to make another version. Here, instead of using low opacity for Tone/Tint in Multiply mode like I did above, I used full opacity. This gives her saturated, glowing color.
I applied different presets in Tone/Tint and Tone/Lomo, each time using an inverted brush mask with a hard triangular brush to paint in the color in specific areas.
I used Brush/Paint with a small brush and white paint, to add a glint as if she had eyes.
Here I painted in more lights in her eyes, again in Brush/Paint.
I cropped in Form/Crop. I used Adjust/Levels to lightened the image a bit.
I used Effect/Glow preset 8 at low opacity to give her a touch of glow, which softens the red a bit. This is Version 3.
