PEDAL - Overview

Our lab has been researching improvement of TCO(ITO,AZO,FTO…..) by Rapid Thermal Process(RTP) and Structuring.

First, we have been analyzing the impacts in TCO film after RTP annealing which cause significant effects on the properties of TCO film optical, electrical, etc.

Second, we have made ITO Nanodome with UV imprinting way has low cost and nice productivity.

The core technology is that the incident light spectrum can be focused to device due to the characteristics of the nanodome with low refractive index.

A photodetector is a device that detects an optical signal and converts it into an electrical signal.

Typical TCO materials(ITO,AZO) is on commercial scale have been researched applying to Photodetector as double TCO films.

Double TCO film has low contact resistance and similar transmittance with single AZO film.

Different surface structures have different amounts of absorption,

capture and collection of light. Various surface structure studies are under way to produce high efficiency cells.

We fabricated pillars-array and hole-array on Si substrate. This structure not only increases the light receiving surface area,

but also improves the ability to collect carriers.

The pillars structure has a shorter carrier collection length than a hole structure or a planar substrate and provides high conversion efficiency.
