Tropea is part of the "Most beautiful villages in Italy" club and since 2020 it has been awarded the Blue Flag by FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), which recognizes seaside resorts that have distinguished themselves for strict respect of criteria related to sustainable management of the territory and concrete environmental sustainability policies.

The accommodation is characterized by the presence of many bed and breakfasts in the historic center (in old buildings), hotels mainly located in the new area of the city, and a few campsites in the marina area, where you can stay in a tent or camper almost on the doorstep of the famous white beaches of the city.

Given the small territorial extent, many accommodation facilities (villages, holiday homes, and residences) are located in nearby villages, once part of Tropea's casali system (Santa Domenica, Capo Vaticano, now under the municipality of Ricadi, Parghelia, Drapia and Zambrone).
