House Rules

  2. Put your creative side to work in and out of class.

  3. No late assignment submissions.... PLAN accordingly!

  4. Use slack for all (almost all) communication/questions.

    • If the comment/question can benefit at least 1 other student, then use slack!

    • Email is only acceptable for non-urgent personal/private communication. Expect a response within 24 - 72 hrs.

  5. Contribute meaningfully and substantially to your course project.

    • Note that each student's final project grade will be commensurate to their contribution to the project. This final assessment and grade assignment will be determined by the teaching team and instructor.

  6. Ask questions if anything is unclear!

Grading

  • Weekly Reflections (R1 - R7): 18%

  • Individual Assignments (A1, etc.): 12%

  • Attendance & Participation: 10%

  • Team Project: 60%

Slack

We will use Slack for most communication. Slack is a great place to ask questions related to an assignment or a concept in the learning materials. If you have a question, there is a high chance that another student has the same question so please do not be shy about posting. Posting on slack guarantees a higher response time from the teaching team and allows others to benefit from the answer. Also, Slack is a great place to share useful resources for this course such as reading material or videos on various HCI topics. For personal questions, please use email instead.

Sas statement

Students requesting disability-related accommodations and services for this course are encouraged to schedule a meeting with me as early in the term as possible. This conversation will help to establish what supports are built into the course.
