Description

This short ESP course is designed to improve the English skills of general science students. In this course, you will explore recent breakthroughs and relevant scientific studies, while expanding your vocabulary and the English language skills needed to understand, process and share scientific information. Aiming at preparing students for future academic endeavors in the field of science. Activities and course materials are designed around the purpose of creating opportunities to improve the participants' collaborative, innovative and communicative skills.


Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to,

1.Use the most appropriate term to describe a process, object, or event.

2.Use comparative adjectives to explain the difference between natural phenomena.

3.Use the present progressive and the language of cause and effect in giving explanations.

4.Use intensifiers to describe the impacts and effects of climate change on our environment.

5.Use modal verbs of suggestion when discussing renewable energy sources.

6.Use modal verbs of future probability to discuss new technologies, innovation, and collaboration in the scientific community.
