Hello!

It is I, Sonja, the writer of this screenplay.

It is currently 10:43pm and this is due at 11:59pm, which is the time that true genius inspiration strikes.

But, much of this story and this world had been formed in my mind for quite a while, starting from a conversation with my brother after watching Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. I was intrigued by the increasing reliance on technology in the futuristic world.

Fast forward a few weeks when I was confronted by an ASSIGNMENT! OH MY HOW UNEXSPECTED! But this was no regular assignment it was a creative writing assignment where we could choose whatever genre and audience we would write for. My mind went: OMG!! THIS IS MY CHANCE! Because I could spend as much time as I wanted on a passion project all while telling my parents that I am working on a assignment. But the problem was I needed a world, a plot, and characters.

So, I paced around my apartment with my brother and we brainstormed.

• I wanted AI and robots.

• He wanted a war.

• I wanted a old grumpy man.

• He wanted a argumentative lady.

And so on...

After a while the story took shape, a war between robots, a grumpy old hunter, and a sufficiently edgy and dumpy futuristic world.

At the time of writing there has been a lot of issues of the regulation and privacy of AI generated artwork, as a artist myself I was drawn to the issue and wanted to comment on it within the world I created.

DATA MINING IN THE WORLD OF S8601:

I believe that taking samples of artistic creations and using it train AI art generators is wrong and is attempting to imitate and at some point replace artists and their role.

In the world of my screenplay I attempted to highlight this issues by pushing it to the absolute limit. I made it such that the AI harvested and collected so much data that they no only imitated the roles of humans but they developed to a point where they could replace them all together as the dominant entity in the world. Where their insatiable thirst for information has lead to war.

This situation was due to humans wanting to automate every aspects of life, allowing AI to control everything to the point that AI began to create and moderate the creation of AI.
