Program Goal

PROGRAM GOAL:

The program aims to develop students’ global awareness, global orientation, cultural understanding and sensitivity, and good background for a career in Foreign Service, in the bureaucracy and in non-governmental organizations

Graduates of BS International Studies are able to:

· Identify major global issues and concepts, comparing and contrasting differences and similarities among regions/countries

· Critique, judge and respond to current issues and problems based on a fundamental understanding of the historical and contemporary development in the national and global contexts

· Develop a predisposition towards ethical political involvement and practice in diverse forms and levels

· Exhibit respect for cultural diversity

· Utilize diplomacy in numerous cultural, social, academic, and professional settings

· Express effective written and verbal communication skills regarding global and international issues, including foreign language skills and/or intercultural knowledge

· Perform gender responsive roles in the practice of their profession
