The objective of the architectural project was to create a residential development that combined both collective and intermediate habitats while adhering to the conditions set by the university. The aim was to produce a modern and coherent design that utilized new roads to improve accessibility, as well as implementing a green approach by incorporating playgrounds and a small stadium in the center of the project. Additionally, a solution was found to address the parking issues by incorporating an underground parking garage.
The design is both practical and functional, incorporating a range of living options to suit different lifestyles. The collective and intermediate habitats are arranged in a harmonious manner, creating a sense of community and promoting social interaction. The use of new roads enhances the accessibility and connectivity of the development, while also minimizing any potential traffic congestion.
The implementation of green spaces, such as the playgrounds and small stadium, contributes to a sustainable and eco-friendly environment. The project takes a step towards promoting a healthier lifestyle and encourages residents to spend time outdoors. The underground parking garage provides a solution to the problem of parking, ensuring that residents have a safe and secure place to park their vehicles.

The goal of the project was to create a new and innovative type of collective buildings in the city of Setif, departing from the traditional vertical design of such buildings. To achieve this, the idea was to design horizontal collective blocks that resembled Lego pieces, with more green spaces between and around each block. The design also focused on creating visual connections between the main streets and the interior of the block, particularly the intermediate and collective buildings. Another key aspect of the project was to combine both collective and intermediate buildings in one site, which was a challenge as the university required only one type of building to be designed.
The entrance to the collective buildings was designed to be from the interior of the block, and the exterior only contained windows facing the main street. The entrance to the buildings was through the courtyards, and the design of the collective building was minimalistic with no elevation details. The colors of the collective building were similar to those of the intermediate buildings to achieve coherence between the two. Additionally, a new feature was added to the project, a passage for vehicles under the collective building, which was a new concept in the city. The road was designed as a one-way exit for the users of the intermediate buildings.Â

The intermediate block is designed with three types of habitats - F3, F4, and F5 - with a total surface area of 4,200 square meters. Each habitat includes a private space that represents one quarter of its surface area, such as a garden or a greenery space. The modern and minimalistic design of the block features typical geometric shapes and four separate blocks housing a total of 20 habitats, with two F5, two F4, and one F3 habitat. Each habitat has its own entrance, ensuring maximum intimacy for its occupants.Â
