The Pepper's ghost technique is a wonderful "Holographic" 3D augmented reality style illusion that allows highly realistic representations of people or objects to be projected into a presentation volume; or onto a stage.  When done properly these illusions are so realistic that the viewer is convinced that the person or object is actually there.

To deliver convincing illusions you need to either very carefully plan the installation of the components or purchase a ready made solution where all the lighting, image generation, staging and lines of sight are designed into the finished solution.

We offer ready made solutions under the HoloSystem name and for the Audio Visual trade we also offer the essential components and any consultancy or installation that is needed.

Product Range for Peppers Ghost Illusions

We supply a range of products that enable the production of this wonderful illusion.

Whether you are new to this technique or are an experience operator skilled in the art we can help.

Our HoloSystem range helps those who have no experience or have the need for a solution that is simple to understand. 

We can supply the HoloSystem with or without a suitable Projector and lens.

Alternatively we can supply without any AV or lighting equipment. In this case  our clients add their own projector, server audio equipment and lighting.

We have prices that also allow clients to supply other aspects of the illusion themselves including the framework that supports the components in their appropriate orientation.

For some customers who fully understand the illusion and the various options that are possible we are able to supply the essential hard to source components like the Holofoil and where they need a tension system we can offer our own patent granted version.

 

HoloSystem

This is the name we give to the Peppers ghost solutions that we provide with a complete framed and lit stage designed to support  one of our Peppers ghost foil frames and all the audio and image generation equipment.  These are stand alone units or varying sizes; they can easily be made to support "holographic" images of 1-5 people. Everything is considered in the design enabling a stand alone installation in an exhibition hall or area where integration into the building is difficult. These solutions are designed where possible to have the viewing area low to the ground for intimate presentations  or alternatively higher up for viewing from further afield. 

The units work best in environments where the viewers eye is not affected by outside or strong artificial light. Unsure if the unit will work where you intend to place it? - then take light meter readings and let us know what they are. we can then help you understand the required projector brightness and the extent of the canopy needed to shield the unit. Don't forget to allow some budget to theme the system e.g. graphics set works etc.

These Systems are made to either standard sizes or with some additional design can be made to intermediate sizes.

Bespoke sizes possible. and are subject to a drawing approval stage  during commissioning. 

The intended location will have a bearing on the brightness of the projector used. Canopy might be needed in some circumstances. Below you can see the projector brightness required to achieve the 1500lumens per m2 or 2500lumens per m2. The lower level will work in very well controlled light levels the brighter 2500lumens per m2 is able to tolerate a higher level of ambient brightness however designers will still need to plan how to keep direct daylight or even uncontrolled and bright artificial light levels away from the viewing area including over the audience. The basic principle here is that if you want to control the cost of an effective Peppers ghost system you will almost certainly find it easier to lower the level of the ambient viewing conditions rather than try to power up the system with ever brighter display or projection technology. Dark walk areas in Theme parks and museums could be say 100lux light levels and therefore relatively easy to make very nice systems for as the rooms get brighter you will likely see that the 2500lumen per m2 systems will work in 300 maybe 500lux provided that the light direction is favourable. to be safe we include provision for a canopy when there may be doubt about the direction of the light source.

Peppers Ghost Glass

Silvered to varying degrees options on anti-reflective coatings for the rear surface. Up to 2.8m wide and 1.9m tall. larger sizes are best used in a vertical illusion set up.

Peppers ghost compatible Ultra-Thin Glass.

Brilliant for small innovative systems - Max size of this glass is 1150mm  x  850mm – requires advice on the system brightness for best effect. delicate but optically highly transparent. please discuss with our technical staff if you think this is something you might need.

Acrylic - Silvered Pepper's Ghost capable.

Various sizes and silvering intensities and applications available. 

HoloFoil For Pepper's Ghost 

Varying widths and thicknesses.

4m wide foil held on stock available at short notice  - can be used on very long set ups if needed. 

Wider foil is available with longer lead-times. eg 6m 8m wide.
