I have tried installing new drivers multiple times before as the tool told me I needed to, however every time I eventually give up because it always gets stuck on the same thing. Last night I let it update itself and I woke up to still be on the same thing and I have no idea what to do anymore as they have needed to be updated for quite some time.

Thank you for the reply! I might sound a bit dumb but what do you mean by driver package, and where can I download this from? What do I look for in the Apps & Features part as I see 5 Intel programs but nothing that suggests graphics

thank you for your answer, but unfortunately it does not solve the problem. The system restore finishes the process just fine, but after restarting the system, the issue persists. The laptop's screen keeps flickering and the computer becomes totally unresponsive. At this moment I am writing from a live Linux. With the Linux drivers the computer works excellently. It seems that the latest Windows drivers are extremely faulty. I do hope they will soon launch new ones with fixes!

It seems I've finally found a solution. It is partial, but it is more than nothing. Looks like that the new drivers corrupt the Intel Driver & Support Assistant too. The only way I was able to delete the corrupted drivers and Intel Driver & Support Assistant was by the UEFI. I disabled Intel HD Graphics (in my computer there is a dedicated GPU too) and then I was able to boot into Windows normally. Then first I removed the Intel GPU drivers. However after the restart I got a BSOD. Then I boot in Safe Mode and I removed Intel Driver & Support Assistant. Now my Windows working fine again, with the default Windows drivers. I decided not to install an older Intel Graphics driver - I will wait for the new fixed ones. Hopefully someone at Intel has already realized there is a problem with the current ones. I'll keep a sharp eye on the driver section of Intel's website.

I want to tell you also that Intel DSA is not designed to support other than Intel computers. Specially it should not be used for laptops. Laptops drivers are in most cases customized by the OEM. So, the user should install the drivers downloaded from the OEM site and use OEM utilities to update laptop drivers. FYI, I've installed the latest Intel DCH drivers on three Intel NUC (different models) and have no observed any functional problem. However, I don't understand why you and other Asus laptop users have this problem, since you have quite modern 7th generation CPU and Intel DCH driver should work for you. Did you asked Asus support? There is one?

Yes, I have contacted with ASUS support and they informed me that in the case of Intel Graphics drivers they are recommending the ones directly from Intel (usually it is not customized by them as an OEM) and so far (for almost two years now) I've always used Intel Driver & Support Assistant to keep my system up to date without any problems. However it seems that this issue not only affects ASUS laptops but other models that made by HP, as I've found quite a few inquiry (all posted about two days ago) about the exact same problem as I was browsing trough their support forums. The users got the same results as I did, and they too confirmed that the problem was caused by the latest Intel Graphics Drivers.

I used to use the laptop for gaming about 2 years ago but stopped. Now I'm trying to get back into those same games and have found that they are incredibly slow - even with graphics at minimal. Some of the games tell me that my "graphics drivers are 597 days old" - which would match the date being shown as my driver date (5/19/2016). The problem is that when I go to intel to update my graphics driver, none of the ones I try (which I believe match my specifications) will successfully download because it tells me I don't "meet minimum requirements". When I try using the intel driver and support assistant, it tells me that there are no updates available. How can my graphics drivers be 597 days old with no updates available? Have intel stopped releasing graphics driver updates for my graphics card/processor?

I believe the driver I have is this: -HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit Download Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8-64-bit - although it shows as 15.28.24.64.4229 it also states "(9.17.10.4229)" - but it gives a date of 6/5/2015, which contradicts the date showing on my system? When I try to download this driver it tells me that my "computer currently contains driver versions newer than the versions you are about to install."

I am resigned to the fact that I will probably have to purchase a new laptop in order to get a better gaming experience, but I just wanted to check whether I was missing anything obvious first. I'd appreciate any advice or assistance on whether I actually do have the most up to date graphics driver available to me or, if not, how I can go about installing one more up to date.

My real question is what, other than the graphics driver, would prevent my computer from downloading new games and not responding when clicking on a downloaded game. If the device is working properly, but is no longer supported by Intel, can that still be why I can no longer download and install these games?

As an aside, I ran this computer in Safe Mode and was able to open two games, Scrabble and Burger Shop 2. The former has no graphics to speak of. The latter has limited graphics. , Unfortunately, I do not know what to do with this information to fix the problem.

I have a 5 year old Inspiron laptop with the i3 2.40ghz 2370m processor and Intel HD 3000 graphics card. It NEVER made the list as being supported for Windows 10 by Dell or Intel. I UPGRADED ANYWAY to Windows 10 when it was released. I have had a great experience with only a few driver issues. Mostly during the first year W10 was released. Last few months I've been using a 4k HDR TV as my primary display w/HDMI. I noticed when I 1st connected it with the newer 2.0 HDMI cable the card read the resolutions it could use that my TV supports like wider xvYCC EXTENDED GAMUT. The result is a wider and deeper range of color overall.

On a fresh install of Windows 8.1, first thing I did (as I usually do) is install Intel Graphic driver but the driver, greeted me with a message that .Net framework is needed to install the driver although the system is fully updated with .Net framework 4.5, 4.6.1, 4.7.2, 4.8 & 3.5 installed. I checked twice.

The first software to be installed after Windows installation and before installing any other drivers, is the Intel Chipset Device Software. This action ensures that Windows recognizes all chipset components. You may download the Intel Chipset Device Software from the OEM site.

Thank you for the response. I have installed the chipset driver but still couldn't run the graphic driver installer, complains .Net framework is missing. Not doing anything else on the machine unless this is fixed.

The .exe packages needs fixing. They shouldn't have any dependencies like VB runtime and/or frameworks. Users usually install drivers before installing anything else and/or going online. A self extracting archive with a script to initiate the igxpin.exe with arguments should suffice and save lots of hassle.

Could you please forward my request the development team, if possible ? My next machine is going to be Intel too and I don't want to deal with the .zip files when it comes to the driver installers. I prefer. exe packages.

But it didn't happen with the driver of this model, it happened with all of the .exe's I downloaded. After speculating that issue is with the .exe archive, I downloaded other random .exe packages to check if they get unpacked or not and they returned the same error.

My laptop is fully updated, including both Intel and Microsoft drivers, and I've checked for incompatible apps and any viruses/malware, but they're all good. I have a second monitor and the flickering still happens on my laptop screen when it's plugged in via USB-c, but not on the other monitor.

I'm having the same issue as reported by @Candice266 and I can tell from numerous posts found from Google search of "Surface Laptop 3 Screen Flicker" that lots of people are also experiencing this issue. I've tried downloading the latest graphics driver from the Intel site after a scan of my system but they screen flicker is still present. What would you recommend as a next step?

HI today I went into intel driver & Support Assisant I waited for it to scan my dell laptop. Today it came up with a Graphics driver for my laptop. So I let it download first and then I pushed on the installation wizard. Then after the terms screen I pushed next. The next screen showed what the intel graphics intaller was going to install. It said it was going to install the graphics driver, intel command center. What I want to now is whether I should check the box to excute a clean install. Is it safe to do this I do not want to mess up my dell laptop.

In your case, my advise is not to check the "clean install" box. By doing this your currently installed driver will be uninstalled and you will loose the ability to roll back driver in case that the new one will not function correctly. You should be aware (this is also explained in the Detailed Description on the Driver Download page) , that this is Intel Generic Driver and you may loose all customization prepared by the OEM for your laptop. Therefore, it is advised to use graphics drivers from the OEM site. e24fc04721
