Here, we provide the brief of our research work and relevant publications.
Multi-modal Design of Intelligent Transportation Systems using opportunistically sourced information: this work proposes a novel design of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) that computes road-traffic information in real time using the widely deployed cellular infrastructure, sparse but accurate GPS probe trajectories, and selectively deployed traffic sensors. The work also proposes novel infrastructure deployment models to suggest an optimal placement of traffic sensors in a road network. The system is evaluated for the infrastructure requirement and accuracy of the generated traffic information using simulations. More information about the work can be found in,

Design of Advanced Urban Public transportation system involving (1) Arrival time prediction of buses at downstream bus-stops on the route; (2) Automatic bus-stop detection by processing historical trajectory data of buses and crowd-sourced commuter data; (3) Crowd-sourced commuter data processing for the transport mode identification and crowdedness detection in the buses; and (4) Processing bus trajectories for road network monitoring (e.g., quality of roads - presence of potholes and average movement speed, detection of junctions, their type (circle and cross-roads) and time varying regulation (traffic light controlled and uncontrolled).
