The Integrative Oncology Scholars Program follows a Team-Based Learning (TBL) format, a collaborative approach that incorporates a flipped classroom model. In this structure, participants engage in pre-class preparation—such as readings, modules, and webinars—so that class time is focused on interactive problem-solving.
During class sessions, activities may include expert panels, discussions with complementary providers and cancer survivors, role-playing, case studies, and hands-on experiences with complementary modalities. Many of these activities will take place in small, predefined groups of 5 to 7 scholars. These groups will be thoughtfully and transparently formed to ensure a diverse mix of skills and perspectives. They will remain consistent throughout the program to foster strong relationships and an enriching learning environment.
