ABOUT
INTEGRATED ULSTER

History

Ulster County is a member of the Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors’ Mid-Hudson Region. The group decided they wanted to focus on making regional services more integrated.

In November 2017, a small group of Ulster County providers participated in a full-day training facilitated by Dr. Ken Minkoff entitled: “Welcoming & Integrated Services for People with Co-Occurring Mental Health & Substance Abuse Conditions”.

The Ulster group decided to use the established SIM (Sequential Intercept Mapping) committee to launch this work. Ultimately, it was decided that this work was outside of SIM’s scope.

In November 2018, a “Part 2” of the Minkoff training was held, entitled: “Trauma-Informed System for Addressing Those with Co-Occurring Disorders”. Ulster County participated with a much larger group (17) and renewed vigor.

It was at this meeting that the name Integrated Ulster was decided upon (thanks, Eric D’Entrone!) From the start, we aimed to broaden our focus and work to increase capability to address any issue a resident may present with.
