A Little Bit About Me...
Hello and welcome to my instructor website! I am excited to have you explore my site to learn more about who I am, my teaching philosophy, what courses I currently teach, and read some of the positive feedback I have received.
I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I lived with my mom, grandparents, and uncle while growing up. Today, it is just my mom and myself who are left in the family, so we have a close relationship. We enjoy the outdoors and local events when we can, especially when the weather is nice.
I have been working in higher education for 16 years and working as an instructional designer for 13 years. I earned both my MBA and Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology degrees online, although it has been almost 10 years since I earned my second master's degree.

My Teaching Philosophy
I believe we are all on a lifelong learning journey as we learn new information and grow in our knowledge, skills, and abilities. Due to this, I have a graceful approach to my teaching and grading philosophy in the classes I teach because I know how life can get busy and the unexpected can happen while juggling school and life responsibilities. I also believe in the Golden Rule to treat others as you would want to be treated. Therefore, I honor each of my students as individuals with unique talents and abilities, given to them by God, our loving Creator.
In addition, I regularly incorporate the following instructional design models, theories, and principles into my classroom discussions with students:
9 Events of Instruction by Robert Gagne
ADDIE Model
ARCS Model
Cognitive Load Theory
Connectivism
Elaboration Theory
Merrill's Multimedia Design Principles
SAM Model
The Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model
Having Some Fun!
Here are some pictures of some fun places I have been to over the years. There are also some pictures of my two cats, Romeo and Juliet, who have passed over the rainbow bridge. Enjoy the photos! 😸
