This website is designed as an eLearning tool for trainers to become more familiar with instructional design and some of its basic principles. After reviewing this website, you will have a basic understanding of what instructional design is and know more about the following five principles:
Instructional Design Models
Analysis
Instructional Goals and Objectives
Instructional Activities
Evaluation
Before using the navigation menu to explore each principle, let's ensure you know what instructional design is and what an instructional designer does.
Instructional design is the process of creating or improving instruction. This would include the whole practice of reviewing the need, the delivery, the material, and the evaluation of instruction (Brown & Green, 2020).
An instructional designer will create or enhance learning curriculums, courses, and materials. However, they do so much more than that. This video by McCabe (2017) breaks down the many hats an instructional designer wears.
