The Teaching and Learning Centre and Student Affairs have developed a new resource with strategies and information to help support students. There are evidence-based ideas for course design, your syllabus, strategies for large classes, working with graduate students and more. The resource is available as an e-book and can be downloaded as a PDF as well. The appendix has a list of Student Supports at UPEI as well as a link to external support organizations through the Canadian Mental Health Association's PEI Helping Tree.

4 Seasons of Reconciliation
As part of the University's ongoing commitment to building capacity and learning related to Truth and Reconciliation, the Office of the Vice President Academic and Research with the support of Corinne Chappell (Advisor to the Vice-President Academic and Research on Indigenous Affairs) and the E-Learning Office offers a new resource to support Indigenization and reconciliation. The 4 Seasons of Reconciliation is a self-directed online educational learning resource that addresses core essentials such as the colonial lens of history, anti-racism, Residential Schools, UNDRIP, the TRC and Indigenous innovations and contributions. It presents interactive learning through a mix of media including films, slideshows, interviews, and quizzes. The goal of this resource is to support faculty and staff learning and diversity and inclusion awareness through education. Once you complete the course you can download a certificate of completion. Biography
Dale Gruchy is an adult educator with almost 25 years Post-Secondary Teaching experience (NSCC and Acadia University) and 30 years in Mental Health and Addictions Field. Dale has led the development and delivery of curriculum (using Trauma Informed Len) at the college and within the larger community.
In 2014 Dale completed a tenure as project manager for the Nova Scotia’s Department of Health and Wellness focus on how to bring Trauma Informed Practice to the Health Care System. Dale also offers workshops and practical advice on how to “be trauma informed” on a practical level; how it is demonstrated in front line work for over a decade.
During the 2022-23 academic year Dale is on Sabbatical from teaching and is focused on a project, Knowledge translation of a Trauma Informed Practice Approach into the Pedagogy of Teaching and Learning: Creating a Toolkit a Post-secondary teaching and learning workforce.
