One of the biggest challenges while designing the SpinTone was how to get the most imporant features of a rotary speaker packed into a device of this size, without feeling crammed or having to resort to inaccessible internal switches or trimpots.
Every function of the SpinTone is distributed between its front and back panels and within reach at any time, with clearly labeled controls and full sized knobs, switches and jacks. No hidden functions!
All the important setting at a glance.
All the connections you'll need are here (and something more)
The controls on the front panel lets you adjust both the slow and fast speeds to your taste, ranging from realy slow sweeps to an almost ridiculously fast warble. You can toggle between both settings using the 3 position switch, which also stops the rotors completely in the center position.
Maybe the biggest innovation of the SpinTone was to include the classic trebble horn for a full dual rotor experience, something never seen even on units of sizes way bigger. Sound comes fron only one of the horns, the other being a dummy for aesthetics and balance just as in the vintage Leslie units. The horn spins in opposite direction from the main rotor and at a slightly higher speed to add more movement and depth to the effect.
SpinTone incroporates an internal dual amplifier capable of delivering 15+15 watts of power. Having two amplifiers feeding each one the main spaker and the horn unit respectively allows efficient operation, great sound quality and a volume that will surprise you!
A key feature of any rotating speaker is the ability to remotely control its speed. SpinTone of course incorporates this feature and as always with style! The two buttons lets you engage or stop the rotation and switch between the slow and fast settings. You can choose between two footswitch options to get the one that better suit your needs - both comes with a 3m (10 ft) long cable.
Includded by default with your SpinTone purchase. Mini pedal sized and made of super strong and scratch resistant plastic, it's both compact and lightweight.
Full sized chassis made of polished aluminum for a premium feel. It also incorporates 4 status leds that let you know at a glance how your SpinTone is set
The back panel incorporates two really cool features. One is the Horn control which lets you adjust the relative volume of the horn to find the best balance posible with the main speaker - super useful with guitars and vocals since too much trebble comming from the horn can sometimes sound too harsh.
The other is the courtesy 9v DC power out. It has center negative polarity and let you feed guitar pedals up to a maximum of 300ma. This is ideal for guitars to hook up your favorite preamp, eq or reverb pedal without the need for an additional power supply.
