The rotary speaker was the genius creation of Donald Leslie, who designed it with the goal of making the then new Hammond organ sound more like the real pipe organs it was trying to emulate.
Trough the years, and specially during the 60s and 70s with the psichedelyc and progressive rock movements the Leslie speaker was used by many legendary bands and players as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix, etc. to add its ethereal and unmistakable warbly and spatial sound to all kind of instruments, from vocals, to guitars and any other thing you may think of.
As amazing as the original Leslie is, its huge size, weight and cost made it prohibitive for the vast majority of musicians.
Emulations sound great and are really convenient but they lack the spatial and sorround sound of a real unit in person, the freedom to experiment and use your own microphones and recording techniques to get your personal sound and, lets face it, they are just way less cool!
SpinTone was born with the needs of the modern musicians in mind. Space, budget and even volume are a concern for most people nowadays and for the very first time owning your own real rotary speaker is no longer an impossible dream.
Despite it's small size, the SpinTone takes advantage of the most cutting edge manufacturing technologies to be packed full of features!
Independent counter-rotating bass and trebble rotors, fully adjustable slow and fast speeds which can be switched from the front panel or remotely with a two button footswitch, dual internal 15+15W amplifiers (one for the bass speaker and another for the the horn, etc.
The SpinTone even comes with a courtesy 9v center negative power output on the back panel which lets you power guitar pedals from the unit itself.
