What are the incentives to participate in this program?
Students who participate will have the opportunity to earn their Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) credential through a specially designed course that meets the requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code and has been adapted specifically to be appropriate and supportive for high school students.
What involvement is needed from parents/guardians?
We want to ensure that parents/guardians remain in the loop with information on the program while also promoting the students to engage independently. Parents/guardians will be given an overview, schedule, and will need to give permission for their student to participate in the program. Each school will also have information to share with their established parent/guardian updates or newsletters. At certain points within the program, parents/guardians may be asked to sign additional permission forms for things like transportation to work opportunities or other events.
