Test Results

Results from Phase One testing are shown in the Memo below. Key points include: The paddle wheel assembly rotates at 5.5 rpm, testing and modification was done to fix minor misalignment, and that testing done on continuous use showed a reduction in noise after realignment and a slight increase in temperature of the motor.

Memo: Stage 1 of Testing

Testing was not done to monitor use in water. As the motor was undersized in the final iteration for the class, it is our assumption the paddle wheel will turn in the water, but not consistently output the flow necessary for the project. In additional projects by the University of Kentucky and Kentucky State University, our system will be implemented and tested for functionality in water.
