I was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan in 1965.
When I was in elementary school, I met Yasuo Miyazawa, the founder of SEISA. For the next 48 years, until his passing, I had the privilege of walking alongside him and learning from his way of life.
Looking back, my path has crossed many fields: education, welfare, school leadership, institutional development, international cooperation, sport, community development, public service, and early childhood education. Rather than following a fixed career plan, I have often stepped into places where my heart was stirred, where people were calling out, or where something needed to be created.
What connects these experiences is a single concern: how we create places where people are not excluded, but recognise one another, complement one another, and build something together.
Today, I continue this work through SEISA Children’s Garden KIDS planet, while also connecting people, organisations, communities, and the wider world through education, welfare, and international cooperation.
Rather than living according to a fixed plan, I have often stepped toward what stirred my heart in the moment. Sometimes I have been burned along the way, but I have always liked taking unfamiliar paths. What I have enjoyed most is creating something meaningful together with people I have met through coincidences that later felt inevitable.
