About & Venue

The International Network Optimization Conference (INOC) provides a forum for researchers in the broad field of network optimization to present and publish their latest results and ongoing research. INOC is the conference of the European Network Optimization Group (ENOG), a working group of EURO. The conference has been held biyearly since 2003. Previous editions were held in Paris (2003), Lisbon (2005), Spa (2007), Pisa (2009), Hamburg (2011), Tenerife (2013), Warsaw (2015), Lisbon (2017) and Avignon (2019).


INOC 2022 in Aachen


Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the edition of 2021 was postponed to spring 2022. INOC 2022 will be held on 7-10 June 2022 in a hybrid format, physically at RWTH Aachen University (Aachen, Germany) and online for those who are unable to attend physically.

The city of Aachen is the westernmost city of Germany, on the borders with both the Netherlands and Belgium. The city is historically known as the preferred residence of Emperor Charlemagne. In the spirit of Charlemagne, 31 kings of Germany were crowned in cathedral of Aachen. This famous cathedral built by Charlemagne is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1978.

The university of Aachen is known as Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, or short RWTH Aachen University. It was founded in 1870 and is nowadays with about 45.000 students the largest technical university in Germany.

Venue

The conference will be held at the main building of RWTH Aachen University, Templergraben 55.

To register go to the INOC Open Space (room 149) on the first floor. Parallel sessions will take place in the lecture halls I, III and IV on the first floor as well.

How to reach Aachen?

Aachen can be easily reached by (high-speed) train from the airports in Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Frankfurt, Brussels and even Paris.

Travelling on local/regional trains throughout Germany is possible with the 9-Euro-Ticket which costs 9€ and is valid for the whole month June. This ticket can be used for example for the transit from the airports in Düsseldorf or Cologne/Bonn to Aachen. It is also valid for the local buses in Aachen.

Please note that masks are still required in public transport in Germany.
