Institute of Technology of Cambodia hosted the first Techno Innovation Challenge Cambodia 2017 from November 18 – December 09, 2017, with the supports from Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the USAID Connecting the Mekong through the Education and Training (USAID COMET) Project, TEXAS A&M University, EZECOM and other partners.
Techno Innovation Challenge Cambodia is a short and focused-period competition program which students from different skills team up, design, build and pitch their innovative STEM-based solutions for solving a real world problem within only 4 weeks duration, organized by Institute of Technology of Cambodia. The competition program is based on and supported by TEXAS A&M University College of Engineering where students focus on designing, building, and then selling an innovative Engineering-based solution to a real world problem. It is found to be the spark that gets students excited, inspired, and provides the energy to continue developing their solution in subsequent effort. The program provided workshop on entrepreneurship to student teams. Teams need to prove and test their ideas and prototypes through a customer interview and some business research to compete with other teams on Semi Final on December 02, 2017 to advance to the final round on December 09, 2017. The first winning team received USD 1,000 in cash prize, the second winning team received USD 750 and the third winning team received USD 500.
