The Holy Trinity

Catholic fine art The Trinity

The central image of this Catholic fine art print is The Holy Trinity. The Trinity is the central Christian doctrine, stating that God is one Being Who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons: the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. Since the 4th century, in both Eastern Christianity and Western Christianity, this doctrine has been stated as " three persons in one God," all three of whom, as distinct and co-eternal persons, are of one indivisible Divine essence, a simple being. The doctrine also teaches that the Son himself has two distinct natures, one fully divine and the other fully human, united in a hypostatic union. Most denominations within Christianity are Trinitarian, and regard belief in the Trinity as a mark of Christian orthodoxy. For a more detailed explanation of this central Christian Doctrine go to New Advent.org. John Paul II Has called the Trinity the most intimate communion of perfect Love among the Divine Persons, who created us to share in their communion of love.

This Christian image has three circles in its center. The image in the top circle represents the person of God the Father. The circle on the left represents the Person of God the Son. This image of the morning star is taken from the new testament, where Jesus portrays himself as the bright morning star in the book of Revelations- Revelations 22: 16.... "I am.... The Bright Morning Star". The rising of the morning star (Jesus) is mentioned again in 2 Peter 2: 19 "Moreover we posses the prophetic message that is altogether reliable. You will do well to be attentive to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises (Jesus in your hearts". The circle on the right represents the person of the Holy Spirit, who is often portrayed in sacred scripture as a dove.
