In-person Training Schedule
The project will be hosting the following three training sessions
1. New Delhi, India, Feb 19-20, 2026
Details: IIT Delhi hosts an annual road safety training course. The common module for this course will be from Feb 16-18, which will be followed by a 2-day training course on case-control studies. You are welcome to attend only the days that focus on case-control studies (Feb 19-20). However, for those of you who work on traffic safety, we strongly recommend also attending the common module of the road safety course (Feb 16-18). Details of the common module are available at this link.
Funding: Participation in the Case-Control workshop (Feb 19-20) is free. Participation in the Common Module requires a registration fee, but this will be waived for you. You will be responsible for other costs (hotel, transport, etc.)

2. Kampala, Uganda, Feb 23-24, 2026
Details: The course will be hosted at Makerere University on Feb 23-24. More details to follow.

B. Required Homework Assignment: [Click here] In this assignment, you have to describe the case-control study that you propose to do in this project. Sample answers are shown in green. The course instructors will use the required assignment to help you assess the feasibility of completing your study by September 2026. Therefore, please also provide any additional information that you would like the instructors to know. Researchers wanting to continue to the next phase of the training must complete the required assignment and email it to injury.case.control@gmail.com by Sunday October 26, 2025.

The folder below provides readings related with this topic. Three of these readings (Lash 2021, Kim 2016, and Banack 2024) are required readings for this training. The rest are recommended but not required.
