How to Use Google Classroom (Super Simple Guide)
Google Classroom is where you will find your work, your lessons, your announcements, and where you hand in your assignments.
Here’s everything you need to know — in the easiest way possible:
Go to classroom.google.com
Log in with your Initia Nova email (or the email your facilitator gave you).
Click Continue until you see your classes.
That’s it — you’re in!
Your facilitator will give you a class code.
Click the “+” button in the top right.
Click Join class.
Type the code and click Join.
Now you’re part of the class!
Inside each class, you will see three main tabs:
This is where announcements and updates appear.
Think of it like your class noticeboard.
This is the important part!
All your work, notes, links, and assignments are here.
Everything is organised by topic, so scroll until you find what you need.
Shows your facilitators and classmates.
You can email your teacher from here if needed.
Click Classwork
Choose the subject / topic
Click on the assignment or document
Read the instructions carefully
Easy.
When you are ready:
Open the assignment
Click “Add or Create” if you need to upload a file or create a Google Doc/Slide
When you are finished, press the “Turn In” button
Confirm it
If you don’t click Turn In, your teacher cannot mark your work.
6. Checking Your Marks / Feedback
After your teacher marks your work:
Go back to the assignment
You will see your mark, comments, and suggestions
If your teacher asks for a redo, fix it and Turn In again
Try this:
Refresh the page
Close the tab and open it again
Check your WiFi
Log out and back in
If nothing works — ask your facilitator
No stress — tech happens.
Check Google Classroom every day
Always read the full instructions
Turn in work even if you’re unsure — you can fix it later
Ask questions if you’re stuck
Keep notifications on if possible
Google Classroom is your online school bag.
If you can’t find something — it’s probably there!
