While repairing the Dragonfly, the crew is attacked by a large cybot, an old relic from a previous war accidentally reactivated by their presence. Majorette establishes a communication link with the automaton and attempts to overload its brain with large amounts of random data from the Plex (galactic information network) … This had an unexpected outcome: the cybot is now inhabited by the scanned personality of a human from another era... who is not adjusting well to her new body.
In order to contact a friend in the Yakuza martial fellowship within the Navy, McAlmatov takes the Dragonfly to the remote Oberon Torus and uses a commercial sim salon to join her in a combat simulation. Xenobia recognises his fighting style and he gives her the evidence so that she can conduct her own discreet investigation.
They do not know who they can trust. Meanwhile the Battle Ark Shaka is on their trail, as is Snake...
