What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is what we call our joining process! It is a structured process in which undergraduate women known as Potential New Members (PNMs) can explore the idea or join a sorority through a mutual selection process where the sororities extend an invitation (bid) to the PNMs.
When is Recruitment?
Recruitment takes place two times during the year. Once in the Fall, known as Formal Recruitment which is a structured form of recruitment spanning over the course of several days. As well as in the Spring, known as Continuous Open Bidding (COB) Recruitment which is an informal recruiting process. This method can be done through events hosted by the chapter, coffee dates, lunch dates, etc.
Mutual Selection? What does that mean?
This is a process where both the chapter and Potential New Member (PNM) express interest and preferences, leading to a matching where the PNM is invited to a chapter they like, and that chapter also wants them as a possible member. Panhellenic will use your vote and the votes provided by the sororities to create a daily itinerary for you. This schedule is meant to provide you with the best chances of getting invited into a sorority that is right for you! There is a home for everybody in our community!
Our Lookbook contains tons of information about Panhellenic recruitment, the recruitment rounds, the chapter's, other Greek organizations, and so much more! We highly encourage all potential new members to read through it!

Day 4 (Sept 13th): Preference Round (Pref Night)! This is the final, most formal round of our recruitment process! This is a very special ceremony, and it is your first real taste of the sisterhood and family within each sorority! These conversations should be meaningful and hopefully you can notice a connection to a specific sorority! Following this night you will sign the Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA). This is a legally binding agreement that Potential New Members (PNMs) sign at the end of the final recruitment event. By signing, they agree to accept a bid (invitation to join) from any sorority they've listed on the agreement. This agreement is in place for one calendar year!
Day 5 (Sept 14th): Bid Day! This is the FINAL DAY of our recruitment process! This is where potential new members (PNMS) that completed the recruitment process receive and invitation (Bid) to join a sorority! You will get to "run home" to your new chapter, and celebrate the invitation of your new members!
