About me

My name is Indraneel. I go by Neel. I put on many hats, but mostly those of researcher, dancer and investor.

I grew up in Pune, India. In 2011, I moved to California to do my undergraduate studies in Pure Mathematics at UC Berkeley. I graduated in 2015 and joined the Ph.D. program at the Institute of Computational and Mathematical Engineering at Stanford University. Here I developed as a climate risk researcher, as well as a Neoswing dancer.

After graduating from Stanford in 2021, I joined the Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University as a postdoctoral research fellow to study sea level rise in south-east Asia. My work took me into the world of climate and finance, and I was introduced to the field of value investing.

Climate Risk Researcher

How will global climate change and sea level rise impact our communities, our industries, our urban systems, over the coming decades?

As an climate risk researcher, I develop computational models to study the above questions.

Youtube Neoswing Dancer

There are some genres of music that will make your body move and groove. Electroswing is such a genre. I stumbled upon some dance videos from the neoswing community in 2017, and the dance has not left me since.

In 2020, I started posting my Neoswing videos on Youtube. and Instagram (@indraneel_g_k)

In 2021, I was listed as one of the 20 most well-known Neoswing dancers by the largest Electroswing music records label, ElectroswingThing.

Since 2022, I have been doing more collabs with various dancers and music artists. It's been a fantastic experience!

Value Investor

I am a value investor with a concetrated portfolio of 5-10 stocks, held over 5-10 year time horizons. I follow the Warren Buffett approach of finding stellar businesses on sale.

I run the blog Buy Rho Sell Pi where I share my investment theses and portfolio performance.
