Fit For a King

Yosemite Sam was in a panic. He had been hired as the king's chef hours before and had a mere two hours to present King Fudd with a duck dinner.

"Oooh tarnation! If I had known I would actually have to cook, I'd have never taken this job."

He frustratingly looked through the enormous pantry in search of the so desired duck.

Sweat was building from his stress, as the chef before him was imprisoned for overcooking King Fudd's lamb steak.

Sam only took the job in the first place to attempt to steal the King's crown.

He thought he would receive training for cooking, which would buy him time. But that was not the case. Sam rummaged through the pantry praying to find a duck. In the back corner he found a box with the words "Live Duck" stamped onto it. It was his lucky day.

When he opened the box, the duck jumped out and tried to escape.

"Oh no you don't!" hollered Yosemite Sam as he grabbed the frantic duck.

The duck shrieked, "Please don't cook me! I'm too young to die! I won't taste good!"

At that moment Yosemite Sam got an idea.

"Hey, duck! How would you like to be rich?"

"First of all, it's Daffy... Daffy Duck. And yes, of course I would prefer to be rich than cooked."

"Good... here is what we are going to do. I am trying to steal the king's crown and you are gonna help me. I am going to put you in the pot to present to King Fudd. When he opens the lid, you fly up and knock his crown off!"

Daffy eagerly replied, "Yeah, yeah, yeah! Then what happens?"

"I will be waiting behind the king, catch the crown, and escape by jumping through a window. Great horny toads I'm more excited than a flea on a hog!" Sam exclaimed while firing his six shooters in the air.

Daffy and Sam immediately put the plan into action.

Before they knew it, the table was set, and Daffy was anxiously waiting in the pot.

However, Daffy felt a case of the hiccups coming on that threatened to ruin the plan.

"Hiccup!"

The pot muffled the sound slightly. However, soon King Fudd and his guests would be at the table. It would not be long before someone heard the duck. The table was being surrounded by nobles. Duke Foghorn Leghorn was to sit next to King Fudd. Even Baron Le Pew was at the table. He had come all the way from France. After all the guests were seated, King Fudd entered with his guards around him.

Hiccup!

Daffy was becoming nervous. Sam watched from the corner of the room behind the king as his plan seemed to falling apart.

Hiccup!

The guests of the dinner started to take notice of the noises from the pot.

Daffy could control his panic no more.

He burst from the pot screaming, "It was the chef's idea!!! He is the one who forced me to try to knock off your crown, your majesty! Please, I am just a poor bird who only wishes to live!"

Sam retorted, "You idiot!"

King Fudd was so surprised that he leapt back from the table.

His crown flew off right his head, and into the hands of Yosemite Sam.

"You genius!" shouted Sam.

Sam immediately bolted for the window.

However, Daffy was going towards the same window, and they collided. They tumbled to the floor before reaching the window. As they tried to get up, the king's guards took hold of them

Yosemite Sam's eyes narrowed as he glared at Daffy. "You're despicable, duck."

Author's Note:

During their year in disguise, the Pandavas served in the royal palace performing various service jobs. My initial thought was to have various Looney Tunes characters acting as the royal servants. I initially thought to include Bugs Bunny as the jester, Daffy Duck as a cleaner of some kind, Elmer Fudd as the king, and Yosemite Sam as the chef. However, as I started to type out this version, I ended up spending about eight hundred words on setting up the characters and their roles in the palace. Also, at this point there had been no plot development. I had no idea how to carry a plot with this many characters. Much of my feedback on the previous story was that I need more character development. But I went overboard and was left without a plot. So, I started over with a simple plot. Whatever characters I used would try to steal the King's crown. So, I chose Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Elmer Fudd. Daffy is always scheming for selfish purposes, and Yosemite Sam is always looking to steal something. However, Bhima was a much better cook than Sam, but I thought Sam being a poor cook would be funnier. In the original story, the Pandavas do not try to steal anything. They simply work in the royal palace. So, I chose to turn this section into a Looney Tunes attempt at a heist!
