In 2022 I had the incredible opportunity to compete in Monash's #Medhack event along with 160 other undergraduates to create new innovative ways of tackling current issues in our healthcare system.
The team at MYMI (Monash Young MedTech Innovators) did an incredible job of organising the event, ensuring we all got so much out of the experience and were supported to do our best! We had the incredible opportunity to speak with Co-designers and Mentors, including clinician’s, experts in the field and Industry professionals from a broad range of companies including Planet Innovation, 4DMedical and Deloitte.
And I am so incredibly proud to say that my team, comprising of myself, Amelda Norsworthy, Xiao Zhang (Mona) and Sahil Bhatia, were awarded first place for our concept 'Monty' ! I am so grateful for my teammates and how well we were able to collaborate to design a solution which really represented all of our skills and experiences. Our project aimed to answer the question 'How might we promote patient confidence and trust without compromising efficiency in the emergency department?' specifically for the ICU and Emergency dept. I cannot communicate how incredible it was to have the support of the Mentors and co-designers who's experience and knowledge was paramount in ensuring we were able to create a well informed and valuable (dare I say innovative) design outcome.
Look out for future developments from us and Monty!! Below is a sneak peak of the logo I designed for the project pitch and some images from the event!
