Teaching Method of My Cooperating Teacher

My teaching observation at Adamson University was a valuable and meaningful learning experience that greatly contributed to my professional growth as a future educator. Through careful observation of my cooperating teacher, Ma’am Dugan, I was able to gain important insights into effective teaching practices, classroom management, and student engagement. 

Ma’am Dugan demonstrated a clear and organized approach in teaching the lesson on cohesive markers. She explained the concepts thoroughly and ensured that students understood the lesson by encouraging participation and providing appropriate examples. Her patience and willingness to guide me throughout the observation period were truly commendable. She consistently provided constructive feedback and gave me opportunities to practice teaching, which helped me improve my confidence and instructional skills. 

During the first week of my observation, I observed all Grade 10 classes throughout the day. This experience allowed me to understand different classroom dynamics, teaching strategies, and student behaviors. In the following week, Ma’am Dugan gradually entrusted me with handling four classes per day. This responsibility enabled me to apply what I had learned from observation and refine my teaching strategies. Prior to my final demonstration, she allowed me to conduct a practice teaching session, which significantly enhanced my preparedness and teaching effectiveness. 

Overall, this teaching observation experience played a significant role in shaping my development as an educator. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn under the guidance of a dedicated and supportive mentor. This experience has strengthened my confidence and better prepared me for my future teaching career.
