Academic Equivalency
Did you know that upon graduating with a degree in Systems Engineering you may be eligible for an Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) Certification? That's right! All thanks to the SEOR department, earning a degree in systems engineering at George Mason University now pays off tenfold. See below conditions of eligibility:
Complete SYST 210, SYST 220, SYST 330, SYST 371, SYST 490/ SYST 495 with grades of 85% or better.
Courses must be taken Spring 2022 or later (during the period where Mason has established academic equivalency).
Join INCOSE as a regular or student member (not associate member).
Pay the ASEP application fee ($180, good for 5 years).
Submit the application. You do not have to take the knowledge exam. INCOSE will cross-check with the SEOR department that you are eligible and then grant certification.
Official details can be found here: https://www.incose.org/systems-engineering-certification/becoming-certified/applying-for-asep
Preparing for the ASEP Knowledge Examination
If you are not eligible for ASEP certification through academic equivalency, that's not a problem. George Mason University's very own Dr. Lance Sherry created a YouTube series to help those interested in certification prepare for the exam.
