Mass media inform and educate, question and entertain. Every day millions of newspapers and magazines are published all over the word. The press informs the readers of the news at home and abroad. Radio and TV inform people, give wonderful possibilities for tducation and broaden our horizons. TV is a favourite mass medium in my family. It gives my family the opportunity to see the best actors, sports matches, to meet famous people. We learn about different countries, people and their customs, traditions, achievements and problems. TV helps us to relax after a hard day. Nowadays the most popular mass medium is the Internet. You can find computers, laptops, iPads and mobiles in every house. A lot of people can*t live without the Internet. We chat, find useful information and the latest news in the Internet. In conclusion I should say that nowadays you can be informed even if you live in the Sahara desert.

ABOUT FREE TIME
I wouldn*t say I have much free time. But when I have free time I can read books, listen to music or watch TV. As for me I*m fond of reading. In my opinion books help me to continue my own education. Reading is very useful because books enrich our experience. I can*t imagine my life without reading. Books teach us what is right and what is wrong, to understand the world and people in it. You know many parents complain that children don*t read books. I agree that children are not interested in reading. They are crazy about only the Internet and playing computer games.

ABOUT OUR COUNTRY
I was born in Belarus. Belarus is situated in the centre of Europe. It borders on Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine and Russia. The population is about 10 million people. The climate of the country is continental. Belarus is a country of plains, green hills, big forests, rivers and lakes. The largest lake is lake Naroch.The longest rivers are the Neman, the Western Dvina, the Prypyat and the Sozh. The largest and the most beautiful forests and national parks are Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Braslavsky and Narochansky Parks which have rich flora and fauna. Today the Republic of Belarus is a sovereign, independent state with its own government and costitution. Belarus is a presidential republic, where the President is the head of the state.
